"Seattle indies who blend contrasting elements into slick songwriting. It’s like baroque for Gen Y." (JukeboxHeroines.com)

"Vocalist Rebeqa Rivers has a powerful, trained voice that's full of potential." (
Seattle Weekly Blog)

"Unique...gorgeous..." (

Pronounced "Latitude BY Longitude" and dubbed LxL by fans, this Seattle Band formed in 2009 and falls between indie rock and vaudeville.  Compared to "a harder version of The Dresden Dolls with a hint of Tom Waits" they have been described as both "operatic chamber rock" (Seattle Weekly) and "Baroque for the Gen Y" (Jukebox Heroines).

With a sense of humor they balance an unpredictable style with reliable quality.  Rivers' lyrics approach real-life issues with vivid, sometimes graphic imagery and a sense of the fantastical - yielding a powerful songwriting style that one interviewer described as "little, mini movies".  This is backed up by the online listener review of their latest album that compares their work to a musical equivalent of a David Lynch movie.

WHO (hearts) LxL
Called a "Pacific Northwest Band to Watch" in the "U Outta Know" section of JukeboxHeroines.com, LxL has also been featured on culture-finder blog boingboing.net and on blogs as far away as Hungary and the U.K.  They were also chosen to perform in Seattle music organization, NadaMucho's "New Music Showcase" and had their single, "Phosphorus+Gasoline" chosen as Sepiachord.com's Song of the Day.

DISCOGRAPHY:
The Basement Chronicles (2009)  Limited release EP with 35 copies released to fans via the band's Facebook Page.  Recorded and mixed by Rivers and Smith in a series of basements around Seattle, Washington, the album features the wonderful Terry Purcell of Portland, Oregon on drums.

Latitude x Longitude
(2011):  Nine original tracks described as "driving after midnight music (Greg Roth of Seattle Music Insider), recorded and mixed at Electrokitty Studios (Seattle, WA) and mastered at RFI Mastering (Seattle, WA).  Featuring the help of the following fantastic musicians: Phil Hirschi (Mahavishnu Orchestra), Cody Rahn, Olivia Hamilton (TMB, Dust and Bourbon), and Joseph Martin (Martha! Mother).  With Rivers and Smith as the driving force behind the band's songwriting the album was written over 6 months, mostly long distance as Smith lived in Texas and Rivers in Washington.  During that time "band practice" was spent on the phone and emailing MP3's back and forth as they built each song instrument by instrument.
